Hello! My name is Michelle Wong (she/hers) and I’m an LPC at Innovative Counseling Partners PLLC in Oak Park. I received my training and Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University and Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. My approach to the therapeutic process is integrative and I create a non-judgmental, safe, fruitful, healthy, and fun relationship. I value empathic understanding, compassion, diversity, and creativity. I love working with people from all different backgrounds and age ranges, addressing racial, gender, societal, and cultural issues. Some of my approaches include mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, ACT, CBT, DBT, feminist theory, relational-cultural theory, strengths-based approach, play therapy, etc. I am an active advocate in promoting and supporting mental health for the Asian, Asian-American, and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. I will do my absolute best to personalize our therapeutic relationship and your treatment plan to be able to meet where you are at!” (Michelle Wong, LPC, NCC, MA, BA).
