About me:
I am a current graduate student working on my Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Concordia University Chicago. I have 5 years’ experience working with at-risk youth and within residential settings. I currently provide mental health services surrounding trauma, depression, anxiety, and anger management to adolescents, adults, and families. I view life as everchanging and that our everyday experiences change and shape who we are. I believe that as individuals we need someone to openly talk to about those changes. Counseling is a process of change and building a trusting relationship between counselor and client. Issues that you would want to resolve will be worked on collaboratively together. Identifying the issues, you may want to address will help the process of creating an individual treatment plan. Each session will consist of reviewing progress made towards meeting goals, becoming aware of symptoms, and focusing on immediate objectives. What you bring to our sessions is one step closer to building a relationship that is helpful and trusting. I practice from two therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and humanistic approaches. I will utilize interventions such as mindfulness, motivational interviewing, self – disclosure, and reframing during sessions or what may best fit you as an individual. I’m here to walk through this journey as a support and a confidant. I look forward to working with you.
