Ieva Ambraziejus

Ieva Ambraziejus, MA

I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University and have experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in a private practice setting. My broader professional background includes bachelor’s-level roles in community mental health and psychiatric settings, including work with older adults experiencing severe and complex mental health concerns. I also have professional and volunteer experience with adults with disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, and a domestic violence agency.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, relational, and grounded in person-centered and humanistic principles. I give clients space to process experiences at their own pace while helping them build insight, notice patterns, and better understand how past experiences may be showing up in the present. I try to create a gentle and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable talking openly, while also offering reflections and different perspectives along the way.

Areas of Focus / Specialties

I work with children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan who are navigating a variety of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Relationship and family concerns

  • Life transitions and adjustment

  • Self-esteem and identity concerns

  • Stress and emotional overwhelm

  • Trauma-related concerns and the impact of past experiences

As a generalist therapist, I enjoy working with a wide range of presenting concerns and tailoring therapy to the individual needs, experiences, and goals of each client.

My work is primarily informed by person-centered and humanistic therapy, with additional influences from psychodynamic, existential, and cognitive behavioral approaches. I tailor sessions to each client and may incorporate processing, reflection, pattern recognition, psychoeducation, coping strategies, and practical skills when helpful. Depending on the client’s needs, sessions may focus on deeper exploration, practical coping strategies, or a combination of both.

Sessions with me tend to involve a lot of processing, reflection, and connecting the dots between past and present experiences. I enjoy taking the time to get to know each client’s story and the unique experiences, relationships, and circumstances that have shaped who they are. I ask questions and help clients explore recurring patterns, make connections, and look at their experiences from different perspectives. My style is gentle and collaborative, and I tend to take things slowly to allow space for deeper exploration.
