Camila Tobon

Camila Tobon, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I earned my degree in Psychology from Universidad del Norte in Colombia and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. I have professional experience working in community mental health and outpatient settings, supporting individuals across different ages and backgrounds. My clinical experience includes working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and major life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting women and members of the Latino community, with an emphasis on providing culturally responsive and compassionate care.

I believe that healing happens through connection, understanding, and the development of a deeper relationship with oneself. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe, heard, and respected. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, and I work alongside clients to help them develop greater self-awareness, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Areas of Focus

I work with individuals who are navigating:

  • Women’s mental health
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Trauma and difficult life experiences
  • Stress and emotional overwhelm
  • Relationship and interpersonal challenges
  • Self-esteem and personal growth
  • Emotional regulation and coping
  • Life transitions and adjustment

My work is grounded in humanistic-existential principles and informed by trauma-focused and culturally responsive perspectives. I tailor sessions to each client’s individual needs, experiences, cultural background, and goals, incorporating mindfulness, emotional regulation, DBT-informed strategies, and other evidence-based interventions when appropriate. I also take an integrative, whole-person perspective with a focus on nutritional and integrative approaches to mental health.

I strive to create a space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves, without fear of judgment. In our sessions, you can expect genuine conversation, compassion, and a pace that respects where you are in your journey. We may explore difficult experiences, build practical tools for navigating everyday challenges, and celebrate the progress that can sometimes be easy to overlook. My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, supported, and a little more connected to yourself.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my cats, creating art, reading, traveling, and enjoying time with the people I love. I find that creativity, connection, and making space for the things that bring us joy are important parts of maintaining balance and well-being. I believe that caring for ourselves also means making room for the small moments that make life meaningful.
