Riya Aggarwal is a second-year graduate student at Innovative Counseling Partners, where she is dedicated to her role as a counseling intern. Hailing from an international background, Riya brings a unique perspective to her work, along with her proficiency in both English and Hindi. Her commitment to becoming multiculturally competent is evident in her inclusive approach to counseling, welcoming individuals of all ages, identities, and backgrounds.
With a passion for working with children aged 3 and above, Riya has found her niche in utilizing play therapy as a means of engagement and healing. Alongside this, she adeptly incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to tailor her approach to the specific needs of her clients. Riya’s interactions are characterized by respect, a non-judgmental attitude, and a genuine curiosity that fosters a safe and open therapeutic environment.
