In Mara Coleman’s clinical practice, they have a passion for mindfulness and holistic healing and uses an integrative approach to counseling to meet the unique needs of each client. Mara’s specialty areas of
treatment include anxiety, depression, grief/complex grief, trauma, body image, dating and
relationships, and couples counseling. As a native of Chicago’s west side, Mara is well-versed in
addressing mental health concerns of individuals (teens and adults) and couples from many
cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Within our complex human nature lies a universal
concept that Mara believes we all seek: optimal health, healthy functioning, and fulfillment of potential. Mara is committed to facilitating the growth necessary for individuals, families, and couples to reach these goals, relative to one’s uniqueness. Every counseling relationship should be met with the
core conditions of empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard to build a trustworthy
relationship and I look forward to venturing on this journey together.
Mara received her B.A. in Social Justice Studies from Roosevelt University and M.A. in Clinical
Mental Health Counseling from Bradley University.
