Jae Windley (he/him) is a second-year graduate student at The Chicago School, finishing his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Jae has experience working with LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults dealing with relationship issues, family concerns, and self-esteem issues. Jae has also a background in grief counseling, providing grief support for adults and children as young as 6 years old.
My style is conversational—in the therapy space, there are only partners, not leaders or followers. My belief is that the client is the expert on their experience and my role is to help them clear through the noise so they can hear their own inner truth.
My approach is eclectic. I begin with a Person-Centered approach at the base, looking to meet each client where they are and adapting to flow with what each individual/couple feels works for the problem in front of them. I am an advocate of play and honoring the realities of life from a lens of humor and joy.
I specialize in LGBTQIA+ Issues, Couples, Relationships, Lifestyle Changes, Grief, Men’s Issues, Identity Discovery and Development, and Black American experiences.
