Maria Afanador is currently completing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health counseling at DePaul University as an International Student from Cartagena, Colombia. Maria currently hold a Bachelor’s degree Psychology from Loyola University and has had experience working with different non-profits in the Chicagoland area that focus on providing mental health resources to BIPOC individuals. Her goal is to work as a mental health clinician with bilingual and BIPOC individuals who experience anxiety and other stress related disorders while holding a holistic approach to mental health. Maria utilizes various therapeutic modalities incorporating mindfulness, stress reduction strategies, and helping clients develop coping skills they can utilize throughout their therapy journey.
