Alison graduated from UIUC with a Master’s in Social Work and has worked as a school social worker for 12 years. She has worked with children ranging from ages 3-18 on issues such as grief and loss, emotion regulation, feelings expression, trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and school adjustment difficulties. Alison has worked with an array of students from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds, including those on the Autism Spectrum and with other special needs. She has experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in the classroom setting. Additionally, she has also worked with families on parenting, coordinating school and home interventions, and finally navigating the IEP and 504 process.

As a therapist, Alison likes to determine client needs and desire for change and tailor therapy accordingly. She incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Existential Therapy, Play Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy in her approach.
