Krista Sherinian, LCSW

Krista Sherinian, LCSW is an eclectic psychotherapist trained in a variety of methods including Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Informed, John Gottman, art therapy, Theraplay, guided imagery, Emotional Freedom Techniques in practice since 1997.  She got her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago.  She got trained by Language Access to Healthcare and Instituto Falcon to become fluent in Spanish.
Her work experience includes addiction counseling, crisis intervention, inpatient/outpatient psychiatric group work, and community mental health. Ms. Sherinian has been in private practice since 2003 at Dunham Counseling.
She provided group and individual clinical supervision at five area hospitals in Chicago and the suburbs.
Ms. Sherinian has given Continuing Education Unit seminars on the following topics: Ethics, managed care, What’s New in Neuropsychiatry, Using Collage in Art Therapy, and Evidence Based Holistic Methods for Mental Health.
As both a biological and an transracial adoptive parent from DCFS foster care she has a subspecialty in multicultural adoption and fertility.
She is a chapter co-leader of the Holistic Moms Network, Southwest Suburban Chapter, ENFP Myers-Briggs personality type, and a dog person.
Hobbies include painting, dance, and travel.
